Statistical Application Development with R and Python, 2nd Edition

R and Python are essential languages for data analysis today. The interdependence and growth of these languages necessitate learning both. This book, a second edition of 'R Statistical Application Development by Example,' now includes Python, providing a comprehensive guide for those needing proficiency in both languages. The book maintains abstract development of ideas and algorithms in R, while standard data analysis techniques are available in both R and Python. To prevent the book from becoming too bulky, some Python parallels are omitted. R is increasingly preferred for statistics, alongside its applications in machine learning and data mining. This book aims to present statistical models through R for readers with basic subject familiarity. In my experience, many are keen to learn and apply these skills in their domains for informed decision-making. A decade ago, a reference book might suffice, but now, with data available in various formats, there's a constant demand for suitable statistical software. My answer has consistently been R due to its simplicity and effectiveness, honed over seven years. This book translates that experience into detailed chapters, providing a structured approach to model building in R.
