BDE Installer Steps for RAD Studio Delphi C++Builder 10.2Tokyo

Abstract: Installation of BDE components in RAD Studio/Delphi/C++Builder. As noted in the “What's New in Delphi and C++Builder XE7” webpage, BDE has reached its final stage of deprecation and has been removed from RAD Studio. It's recommended to migrate applications to newer technologies like FireDAC. If you still wish to install the BDE components, follow these steps:

1. Download the external BDE installer from your “My registered user downloads” section.
2. Complete the installation process. After this, projects using BDE units will compile correctly.
3. To see the components in the IDE, install the design package for the BDE components:
4. In the IDE, select Component -> Install packages...
5. Click the "Add..." button.
6. Browse to the bin folder of the IDE installation (default: C:Program Files (x86)EmbarcaderoStudioXX.0bin), and find "dclbdexxx.bpl" (where “xxx” can be 210, 220, 230... depending on the version). Click "Open".
7. The “Embarcadero BDE DB components” will now appear in the list of design packages, and the BDE components will be available in the Tool Palette.
