Mode Decision Acceleration Techniques for H.264/AVC and SVC
This study presents a fast video transcoding architecture designed to tackle the complexity differences between H.264/AVC and SVC coding structures. By introducing efficient algorithms, the architecture simplifies the mode decision process in SVC, which typically requires significant computational resources. The research focuses on two primary scenarios: transcoding with a consistent quantization parameter and bitrate reduction. In the initial scenario, SVC mode selection is enhanced through probability models.
